June 4, 2008 -- The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has formally approved the registration of use directions for HYSO’s Automatic Door Handle Disinfecting System in conjunction with its alcohol-based quaternary ammonium formula. The formula kills 99.9% of bacteria on the door handle, including Staphylococcus aureus, a common bacterial inhabitant of human skin, Salmonella enterica, a bacterium associated with food borne illnesses, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a bacterial organism found in water, soil, and food.
