D3 Micro Helps Reduce Hospital Acquired Infections

July 9, 2010 -- A prominent children's hospital in the southeastern United States recently conducted a fully independent study involving the use of the D3 Micro, HYSO's automatic door handle disinfecting device.  Between 2008 and 2009, the hospital achieved an 86% reduction in hospital acquired infections in its neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) after implementing an intensive hand hygiene program that included the installation of the D3 Micro on all doors leading into the NICU.

The Infection Control and Environmental Services departments at the hospital both believe that the D3 Micro was an essential part of their successful program.

"With our high volumes of staff entering and leaving the NICU it only made sense to implement HYSO's D3 Micro system.  Due to a great design the units have been easy to maintain and there has been no down time," stated the hospital's Environmental Services Manager.
